Position Description

Credit Administration Mgr I

Manages the bank's commercial credit administration approval process, including approving, or recommending for approval, commercial credit requests presented by assigned commercial lending staff. Recommends and implements effective credit administration policies and procedures in line with industry trends, market needs and bank objectives. Ensures compliance with all related legal requirements and banking regulations. Monitors the quality of work produced and controls departmental expenses. Provides guidance to subordinate supervisors and staff regarding the bank's procedures in portfolio management, commercial credit presentations and processing, credit underwriting, loan grading, problem loan management and credit delinquencies. Ensures a balance of commercial credit portfolio quality and optimum profitability for new and existing business relationships. Makes credit decisions within authority limits. Typically has final authority concerning staffing, performance evaluation, promotions, salary recommendations and terminations. Other duties as assigned.

Typically requires a Bachelors degree in business or finance and 10+ years of credit administration/commercial lending experience. Broad and extensive knowledge of complex credit structures, administration policies, procedures and techniques. Demonstrated supervisory skills. Uses sound analytical and evaluation skills to effectively communicates rational/reasoning in verbal communications. Ability to work effectively with all levels of staff. Strong written and verbal communication skills
