This position is a strategic hire and therefore an important role for our client.

Job Description

The Financial Institution Credit Analyst will be monitoring, management and reporting of customer positions including excesses, and assess credit risk ratings and limit structure of Financial Institutions. You will undertake risk analysis on new and existing transactions for customers primarily in Financial Institutions and with a particular focus on investment banking/ global markets and derivative products. Besides, you have to liaison with internal departments and potential clients to test and authenticate the information supplied with a view determining a sound credit opinion of the risks involved. You will conduct detailed credit analysis of Financial Institution information including published and management reports, Financial Institution models and appropriate sensitivity scenarios as well as ongoing monitoring of the credit-worthiness of the portfolio, using a variety of media as well as ongoing direct contact with clients.

The Successful Applicant

The Successful Financial Institution Credit Analyst must be highly numerate, with at least 5 years experience in credit analysis with a range of sectors including but not limited to financial institutions and with a particular focus on investment banking/ global markets and derivative products. You need to have a sound grasp of International Accounting Standards and familiar with the principles of financial ratings and good understanding of transaction and security documentation and the implications with regard to the banks ability to take action. It's critical for you to have strong interpersonal skills and client focus are vital, as well as attention to detail and the ability to work to tight timescales under pressure. Excellent proficiency in written and verbal English is essential.
