Credit Analyst
Role Duties:
- Assist the team in the reporting of aggregate debt distribution exposure against established Limit Frameworks / Mandate Scale
- Assist the team in the monitoring of limit utilization and Loan and Bridge Underwriting exposure
- the preparation of materials and briefing papers for Team Head(s) for the referral of underwriting risk transactions and potential excesses with recommendations to senior management for their review
- Stay current and up to date with news, trends, developments in all Debt Capital Markets including Leveraged Finance / High Yield / Corporate and Investment Grade and Emerging markets
- Develop, prepare and present analytical material across Debt Capital Markets and Product including market data, analysis, trends and themes that will assist in developing views and information for the benefit of the Team, Senior Risk Management and the wider Risk Business and team members
- Interact with Global Syndicate as partners of our business and activities
- Development of personal contacts with all Product teams and related support functions
- Accurate and relevant documentation of required information in all presentations in conformance with Bank policy and procedures
- Participation in Product team market briefings, Product team business updates, transaction committees including DAC's, ECCC, Screenings and GCC and other related Committees as they relate to Debt Capital Markets Underwriting and Bridge Risk activities of the firm
- Continuous development of industry knowledge through research, contacts and participation in seminars
- Continuous development of product knowledge in accordance with product offerings of the firm
- Interact with product areas during new transaction proposals to better understand the risks involved
Skills Needed:
- Core credit / analytical skills and demonstration of experience (no specific credit analysis or report writing is required, however being able to read, understand, analyse and summarise a view on a credit/debt deal is relevant
- Understanding and experience with/in debt capital markets is relevant
- The candidate should have an appreciation of the wider market in Loans, Bonds, High Yield, Leverage Finance. Where is the market today, what are the key drivers What is the candidate's understanding or experience directly in any specific transaction(s) seen in the debt markets.
- The candidate doesn't necessarily have to have worked on a debt/syndicate desk, however some understanding of those desks and markets work and how deals may price / trade is useful
- Debt product experience / awareness and related technical context will be valuable - the candidate will gain experience in the role - however this needs to be readily balanced with experience / awareness from a background credit and/or market risk rolle
- The role is suited to someone who possess a solid yet developing foundation in credit/debt markets; has an analytical and challenging approach to risk concepts and the business, and in a Risk business role wants to work in a risk team that is required to be very close and partner with Syndicate and Front Office teams across the entire bank
