Credit Analyst – Banks / FIs recruitment
Reporting to the Head of Division, the Credit Analyst will take responsibility for an assigned portfolio of transactions to identify and resolve breaches of contract in order to mitigate risk and ensure stability of outstanding loans.
The role will involve:
- Carrying out financial reviews of EU Financial Institutions counterparts to assess the credit standing and their compliance with contracts.
- Proposing, if applicable, internal counterpart ratings.
- Performing reviews of Loan Substitute transactions, and carrying out due diligence on Multiple Assignments of Rights, flagging possible credit deteriorations, mainly based on external ratings.
- Following on-going developments in the financial services industry.
- Reviewing security, assignments, guarantees and any related documents.
- Contributing to regular reports, flagging any Watch list cases for specific counterparts/transactions.
- Ensuring that assigned counterparts comply with internal guidelines and procedures.
The successful candidate will:
- Have at least 3 years of professional experience in banking, finance, law or with a rating agency.
- Solid track record as a credit analyst, with a sound understanding of credit risk assessment principles, counterpart rating criteria and key contractual clauses used in loan documentation, particularly for Financial Institutions.
- Be capable of working, autonomously from inception, on several operations in parallel.
- Have strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Be able to demonstrate strong analysis and problem solving skills.
- Have a university degree, preferably in Business Administration, Law, Finance or Economics, ideally supplemented by post-graduate studies.
- Have excellent knowledge of English and/or French. Knowledge of other EU languages (particularly German, Italian, Portuguese and Spanish) would be an advantage.
