Credit Analyst – Energy, Utilities & Regulation recruitment

Summary

As a member of the EMEA Energy, Utilities Regulation Group, you will take proactive lead analytical responsibility for a varied portfolio of corporate issuers in the utility sector (regulated and non-regulated). You will conduct meetings with and analyse the creditworthiness of issuers in the sector. The role also involves presenting and discussing recommendations to a rating committee and communicating Fitch’s credit opinions on debt capital markets issuers effectively and in an incisive manner to external parties. Additional analytical focus will comprise ad hoc sector commentaries, rating actions to reflect credit events and topical research. The role will also involve some analytical support to business development activities, interaction with issuers, investors and bankers, and will entail some travel.

The current portfolio envisaged comprises a lead analytical role for a minimum of 10 entities in total, and an equivalent number of back-up names. The exact portfolio assumed will be tailored to suit the individual’s skills and experience and may be amended over time. The opportunity exists for the individual to expand the portfolio and to broaden their overall knowledge to incorporate all aspects of energy, utilities and transportation. The Energy, Utilities Regulation team works extensively with other areas within Fitch, most frequently with structured finance on CDO, WBS, Project Finance and ABS transactions, providing the opportunity for the successful candidate to also gain some experience of these product areas.  The successful candidate will report to the team head of the Energy, Utilities Regulation Group.
