General Accountability

The Associate supports more senior officers in the development of business with prospect companies and the maintenance/enhancement of relationships with existing accounts.

The Associate has two major roles:
(i) to provide high quality account administration and
(ii) to assist in obtaining new business through the analysis and structuring of transactions.

In order to ensure efficient administration and appropriate client contact points, this position is assigned a portfolio of accounts related to specific industry groupings.

The Associate is expected to work independently to some degree; however, more experienced officers are available to provide guidance and direction on an ongoing basis.

Some degree of client contact will be necessary for this role.

Reports to: Associate Director, Financial Services, Execution. If a Director role is established in the future the Associate will report in at that level.

Specific Accountabilities

Member of deal team for all transactions related to assigned portfolio.
Tasks include: analysis of business opportunity; preparation of credit presentation and recommendation for review by more senior officers and subsequently GRM, negotiation of product terms and documentation with borrowers/other banks culminating in the close of the transaction.

Pro-actively monitor assigned portfolio in order to become cognisant of business and industry dynamics and able to detect changes in credit quality. Escalate concerns to Supervisor. 

Provide high-quality account administration and maintenance of assigned portfolio with duties to include conducting annual reviews, co-ordinating account management with team members and Loan Administration Officers, assessing and responding to customer requests for waivers, amendments and the restructuring of credit facilities.
This function also includes all required regulatory and compliance activity.

5. Provide occasional cover for other portfolio or Execution team members during periods of absence or heavy workflow.
