Credit Analyst I (64)
Eastern Bank is offering a unique opportunity to the right individuals to begin a career in commercial banking by joining Easterns formal credit training program.
The Credit Department provides analytical support to various departments within the Commercial Banking Division. The successful candidate will learn financial statement and other credit related analysis as well as the preparation of Credit Memoranda in conjunction with the credit approval and review process.
- The credit analyst position is an educational and production position.
- The incumbent will learn and prepare business financial spreadsheets.
- This position will spread statements of increasing complexity and will create independent credit analysis of loan proposals.
- This position will involve the assignment rotations though various lending groups including Commercial Real Estate, Middle Market Lending, Managed Assets group.
- Additionally, this position will analyze risk associated with Automated Clearing House transactions and risk for company vendors.
- The successful candidate will learn and become conversant in loan collateral and will become proficient with the bank's main deposit and loan software.
- The ideal candidate, after demonstrating good credit judgment and sales skills, should ultimately progress into a portfolio manager role or a relationship manager (i.e. commercial lending) role.
Required Skills

- The position requires a bachelors degree with concentrations in Finance, Accounting or Economics
- A detailed working understanding of accounting is required.
- The position also requires excellent organizational and writing skills.
- The successful candidate must possess outstanding presentation and communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and internet research engines required.
Required Experience
- Commercial lending related internship experience is a plus.
