CREDIT ANALYST recruitment

BNPP IP offers a diverse range of investment management strategies to institutional clients in the U.S.  Our clients include corporations, pension plans, insurance companies, foundations, endowments, central banks, official institutions and mutual fund advisors. In the U.S. we have offices in Boston, Chicago, New Jersey and New York. We have an excellent opportunity for a Credit Analyst in our New York office. Individual will provide credit opinions while working closely with senior colleagues as part of the Global Credit Team in New York and Paris. The appropriate candidate for this position will be interested in developing a career in fixed income investment management.

Specific Responsibilities:

• Responsible for fundamental research analysis on issuers in the Energy, Pipelines and Independent Power Producer and Chemical sectors across investment grade and high yield issuers.

• Compose full write-ups for portfolio holdings.

• Undertake ongoing critical monitoring of portfolio positions, including changes in views using published company and industry information and correspondence with corporate issuers, sell side analysts and rating agencies.

• Generate ideas across multiple investment strategies, including total return and long / short portfolios, and advising on timing for positions based on fundamental events and /or news flow.

• Identify appropriate financial obligors for structured transactions.

• Maintain industry opinions and produce periodic reviews.

Ideal Personal Profile:

• In-depth understanding of fundamental credit analysis, including ability to research industry sectors, competitive position, financial statements and financial notes. Strong credit analysis skills particularly in company financial statement analysis. Experience in total return environment is preferred.

• Familiarity with modeling cyclical sectors through cycles. Experience should include intensive analysis of company financial reporting such as annual reports, 10K, 8K, 20F and quarterly/semiannual financial reports.

• Highly numerate and detail-oriented with excellent academic credentials. Must be comfortable with mathematical concepts and financial modeling, as well as accounting rules and procedures. Strong quantitative skills.

• Energetic and industrious self-motivated team player who works well under pressure and has strong interpersonal skills.

• Flexible but effective time manager who is able to prioritize responsibilities so that all deadlines are met.

• Ability to work in a global team in a stimulating, fast-paced environment.

• Knowledge of French a plus. 

Academic Background and Experience:

• Minimum of ten years credit analysis. (Particularly in company financial statement analysis).

• Advanced computer skills (Excel, PowerPoint and Word).

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or a related discipline.

• CFA Charter holder preferred.
