Credit Analyst recruitment
PEAK6 Advisors is currently seeking an experienced Credit Analyst to join our growing hedge fund group. In this position you will assist the Convertible Arbitrage team and be expected to analyze financial statements and indentures, calculate recovery rates, build credit models, and become completely familiar with a company’s capital structure and future prospects. Additionally, you will be supporting the Portfolio Managers in day to day functions of the trading desk and correspond directly with internal and external resources on trade related matters.
Core Responsibilities:
- Financial statement analysis
- Reading indentures
- Recovery rate analysis
- Comparables analysis
- Credit metric ratio valuation
- Track credit flow and news
- Model building
- Communicate with Compliance and Operations on trading issues
Job Requirements:
- Relevant degree from accredited college or university in Mathematics, Finance or Financial Engineering; MBA preferred
- Two or more years of experience in credit analysis
- Strong contacts within the credit industry
- Outstanding analytical ability
- Convertible bond knowledge preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience speaking with company management teams
- Trading industry experience preferred
- Expert-level Microsoft Excel skills
- Database experience
