Credit Analyst, Sub-Saharan Africa focus recruitment

Working as part of the Debt team, on both new business and portfolio management, responsibilities include:
- New Business: supporting a team working on new debt investment propositions, including the initial screening, market analysis, balance sheet analysis and assisting with drafting of the investment review and recommendation papers.
- Portfolio management: supporting role on a portfolio of existing debt investments, reviewing quarterly reports, preparing monitoring papers, reviewing valuations, attending Monitoring Committee and Valuation Committee meetings, reviewing call notices and covenant compliance reports and attending borrower meetings thereby gaining exposure to the market-place
- Evaluations: supporting role on evaluations of debt investments, collecting the necessary data, preparing an initial list of meetings/calls, making field visits as necessary, assisting in the drafting of the Evaluation reports.
- Research and strategy: Updating market maps, collecting market data and other activity relevant to CDC debt investments.
- Knowledge management: keep up-to-date deal-flow, deal management and portfolio monitoring databases for all transactions covered by the debt tea
Qualifications
- At least two years business experience within an international financial environment.
- Experience of looking at Sub Saharan credits
- Good credit analysis and financial modelling skills
- An active and demonstrable interest in developing countries.
- As a member of a small team, a flexible and “hands on” approach is a prerequisite.
- PC literate, with a good understanding of database functionality.
