Credit Analyst – UK Mid-market / SME’s recruitment

Outline :

The Senior Credit Partner will take responsibility for a portfolio of mid- market corporate clients (up to £150 million). This role will be focusing on building relationships directly with the clients and relevant experience will be required.

As a Senior Credit Partner you will be working with corporate clients to understand their sub-investment loan requirements, structure transactions and become their advocate when presenting their needs to an internal Risk Committee.

Main responsibilities will involve:

For selective relationships where the complexity and credit risks are higher than typically seen across the portfolio, in partnership with the Relationship Manager, undertake appropriate due diligence, prepare credit application and make recommendations.

Where appropriate, take transaction to execution, including the completion of documentation (including any relevant security arrangements).

Ensure the standard of credit applications across the team is consistent and of a high quality, providing coaching and leadership as appropriate.

Present credit applications to the respective credit approval committee, providing a balanced view of the credit risks and proposing a course of action.

Key Requirements :

A proven track record of experience in a credit analysis role looking at corporate banking loan portfolios
Banking, Treasury or Accountancy professional qualifications

Demonstrable exposure to the UK corporate banking sector and a sound understanding of bilateral / club and syndicated type facilities

A sound understanding of the typical corporate banking suite of products, including an understanding of derivatives (interest rate FX swaps) and other specialist products offered by the Bank
A sound understanding of financial forecasting methodology and credit rating interpretation
Experience in negotiating with Clients
