Credit Analyst – Utilities sector & others recruitment
Role definition
Embedded into the investment team, his/her role is to analyse and evaluate the fundamental creditworthiness of companies in the utilities and other sectors that fall within his/her remit. He/she will express opinions on business financial performance, ratings direction, and relative value. He/she will make investment recommendations and monitor positions across portfolios.
Responsibilities
- Analysing and assessing the creditworthiness of issuers in the Utilities and other sectors, across both investment grade and cross over credits.
- Providing a clear view on sector trends and themes, underlying business risks, financial strength and liquidity as well as associated group strategies.
- Monitoring any material 'credit drivers' related to these issuers and regularly keep portfolio managers informed through portfolio holding reviews as well as periodic sector updates.
- Providing 'backup coverage' for team colleagues on other major sectors
- Working closely with several senior portfolio managers across different fund types to initiate trade ideas and actively contribute to portfolio allocation.
Profile
- University degree or business school qualification deemed equivalent
- 3 to 4 years’ experience in the field of credit analysis with an asset management firm, an investment bank or a rating agency
- In-depth knowledge of accounting financial statements, as well as key ratio metrics
- Skilled user of MS Office application and financial datas providers
- Fluent in English; French a plus
- Candidate expected to reside in Switzerland
