Position Description
The Morgan Stanley Credit Risk Management team is recruiting an Analyst / Associate for the Credit Capital Analysis Group. This team is responsible for analyzing credit risk capital, building reports around that data and presenting the reports to various internal management committees and business groups. The ideal candidate will have experience in a role focused on risk reporting and can demonstrate strong capabilities with technology and data management. This is both a strategic and hands-on role.
Job Responsibilities include:
• Development, implementation, and maintenance of critical credit risk capital reports covering Fixed Income, Commodities and Equity trading activities as well as Loans, (Lending Repo)
• Monitor credit risk capital data on a daily basis
• Identify areas of weakness in the data stream and reporting process
• Propose and implement solutions, including new reports, to improve data quality and reporting processes
• Represent Credit Risk capital at cross-functional working groups
Educational Background:
An undergraduate degree in computer science, finance, or economics is required; an advanced degree in a related field is a plus, but is not required.
Skills Required
Candidates must have:
• Fluency with Microsoft Excel spreadsheets, Visual Basic and SQL database queries.
• Strong problem-solving abilities, excellent analytical skills, solid writing and oral presentation skills
Skills Desired
• Minimum of 1-2 years of experience specifically in Credit/Market Risk Reporting, Product Control with an emphasis of risk, or related risk control function in a Bank
• Knowledge of financial products, financial markets and risk drivers especially those within Fixed Income, Commodities, Equity Derivatives and Loans
* Knowledge of various securitization products and structures, capable of analyzing securitization deals by reading deal documentation
• Experience working with Global teams across multiple divisions
• Knowledge of Federal Banking regulations
• Experience in Risk reporting at a Commercial Bank
• Experience working with Government regulators and internal and external auditors
