Credit Derivative/ OTC Product Middle Office Associate recruitment
- Reporting to the Manager of GCM Middle Office, the position is responsible for overseeing Credit products.
- Functional coverage will include deal input, deal checking, system to system reconciliations, break resolution, PL break investigation and ad-hoc trading queries.
- There will be an expectation to contribute to process improvement through streamlining processes automation where possible.
- Expected to be flexible in providing assistance and backup for Interest Rate, Structured Product, Total-Return Swap, and Equity products.
- May include trade validation; review of Trade Confirmations; processing of payments and receipts; preparation of accounting reports.
- It will be crucial to develop strong working relationships with all traders, sales and support functions.
Major Responsibilities:
- 25% - Timely Verification and Validation of Credit Default Swap trades in trade capture system. It is imperative that this information is captured timely and accurately on the trade date.
- 25% - Information flow to the downstream systems and settlement teams is complete, timely accurate. This includes the preparation of payment and receipt reports, and possibly the manual preparation of debit/credit tickets.
- 25% - Customer Support. Candidate should display excellent customer service skills when handling customer inquiries professionally and to completion. Candidate would need to show good judgment in when to escalate an issue to management and/or the front office. Queries must be addressed in a timely fashion and customers should be left with the impression that the department and bank is concerned and attentive to their issues.
- 25% - Coverage of department needs, fill in for colleagues. As a smaller department, cross-training on job responsibilities is stressed and the need to cover for vacationing, traveling, or ill colleagues is frequent. Flexibility is a must as candidate will be expected to grow in the role and learn new tasks, products, and asset-classes.
Qualifications
- Strong PC skills, including: Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Strong working experience, 3 to 5 years, in credit middle office trade capture and processing with (some) the following products: Credit Default Swaps, Asset Backed Securities, Mortgage Backed Securities, Total Return Swaps, Special Purpose Vehicles, Domestic or Foreign Bonds.
- College Graduate; MBA a plus.
- Experience in Derivative products required.
