Credit Derivatives Trader – Associate Director recruitment
Job DescriptionMetLife’s Structured Solutions Unit assists the Company to use derivatives to solve ALM challenges. The Candidate will be integrally involved in the day-to-day management of the Company’s synthetic credit positions, including having trade execution authority. This management process includes monitoring existing positions, calculate position sensitivities to market events, and suggesting new strategies. Additional responsibilities may include project work related to desk automation and efficiency initiatives. The Candidate will also be involved in discussions with Portfolio Managers on how to use derivatives within their portfolios.
Responsibilties:
- Primary responsibility for daily front-office position reporting of the Company’s credit derivative positions. This includes P/L and risk analysis of the portfolio.
- Trade execution authority for the Company’s structured credit positions
- Gain a thorough understanding of credit derivative use at the Company.
- Propose new strategies for the Company
- Assist in desk automation and efficiency efforts.
- Assist in structuring trades for the General Account.
- Learn about and become proficient in the other derivative asset classes the firm utilizes
Job Requirements
- MBA with a concentration in Finance or a quantitative discipline preferred
- Demonstrates strong quantitative skills
- 5 years experience in derivative products, particularly credit derivatives, is required
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel required
- Knowledge of statistical packages (e.g. EViews) desirable
- Programming skills (.NET, SQL) is a plus
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Strong organization skills
- Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
