Summary
Department: As part of the Fixed Income division, the Credit Trading is a large team of traders making markets in bonds as well as Credit Default Swaps in specific companies or credit indices
Team: sitting on the trading floor, the team of Desk Analysts supports the trading floor with their fundamental/relative value analysis ultimately aimed at generating trade ideas which are communicated to clients
Main responsibilities
- Under the supervision of Senior Desk Analyst, the Trainee will support the credit desk in analysing specific credit situations and generating trading ideas, and involves a close interaction with Traders. More precisely, the Trainee will be involved in:
- Credit Analysis: analysis of companies’ credit strength, involving forming views on the business and financial solidity
- Financial modelling: projection of future income statement, cashflow and balance sheet, based on detailed modelling of drivers for operating and financial performance, for companies traded on the desk
- Maintaining / developing tools to store in a standardized way fundamental data about issuers
- Trade ideas: identifying and formatting rationales to buy or sell a bond or CDS, or switch from one to the other
- Communicating credit views, commentaries on corporate news, and trade ideas to colleagues on the trading floor and be instrumental in putting together the morning comment sent to investors
Degree of autonomy
- The Desk Analyst Trainee will report to the Senior Desk Analyst, who reports to the head of Credit Trading
- Depending on performance, the Trainee will be able to take on research
- projects with growing autonomy

Education
Graduate in Business, Economics or scientific degree with a strong quantitative component
Past experience
Ideally, previous internship experience within an investment bank
Languages
European language would be a plus
