Job Description
ROLE SUMMARY:
- To serve as a Credit Officer for credit products to clients of the bank in alignment with global guidelines and directives within assigned competence in order to ensure “zero” loan losses
- To act as a business and transaction enabler
- To coach and develop junior colleagues
THE ROLE INVOLVES:
Credit Analysis and Credit Decision:
- Conducting in-depth analysis of the securities and assets being offered as collateral for the purpose of identifying their suitability for lending against them using the terms and conditions specified in the Global / APAC credit policy and directives
- Ensuring the proper assessment of the quality of assets and liquidity as well as concentration risks associated with assets being offered as collateral
- Making credit facility granting decisions and acting as a sparring partner for the junior colleagues within the team
- Seeking for higher authority if required, ensuring the escalation process for cases which necessitate further investigation
Credit Structuring and Execution:
- Preparing and submitting credit applications for approval in the specified format
- Setting up proper and complete documentation and ensuring that these documents are properly executed and received from clients through the RM
Credit Monitoring / Account Management:
- Carrying out credit reviews and ensuring an efficient and risk-related daily monitoring of the allocated credit cases / clients / customer desks
- Increase or decrease of credit facilities and / or tailoring of existing credit facilities
- Conducting scenario / sensitivity analyses in order to detect potential risks and shortcomings, enforcing margin calls and liquidations if required
Support of Strategic Initiatives and Projects:
- Active cooperation in any (cross-divisional) initiatives and projects as and when assigned (including conducting training)
- Providing support to any reporting requirements (including internal or regulatory) of the department
- Fostering an active partnership and communication with Relationship Managers, Collateral Valuation Office, Solutions Partners, Credit Advisory, LCD / Compliance and other CRM and Risk units globally
Qualifications
TO QUALIFY, YOU MUST POSSESS:
Education: Bachelor’s or master’s degree; CFA, FRM are a plus
Experience: Track record in financial services focused on private banking / wealth management products and services
Personal characteristics: Independent working style, conceptual thinking, good communicator, good negotiation skills
