Credit Portfolio Management Consultant recruitment
Overview:
My client, a big 4 consultancy firm, based in London. They require a credit portfolio management subject matter expert to join their credit portfolio management modelling team. The CPM team represents a world class advisory service, successfully blends senior ex-practitioners and outstanding modellers to provide a market leading service to its clients. This role has been generated by growing business requirements and the successful candidate will join a growing department who have ambitious plans over the next 3 years, based on their success to date with delivering high level results to their clients an extensively changing market, my client has a team who are at the forefront of delivering change and enhanced best practise portfolio optimization.
Roles and Responsibilities
Client focussed
• Provide advice to clients on best practice in credit portfolio management, providing insights based on a wide based view of current market practice and experience.
• Providing recommendations and assisting clients with the identification and implementation of enhancements to any aspect of their credit portfolio management businesses. This could include the complete development of an active CPM business from first principles, or the provision of new business functionality for example transfer pricing or establishing a credit treasury capability.
• Act as a trusted advisor and develop clients’ relationships to this level for the benefit of wider team interactions and project delivery.
CPM development related
• To assist business development, sales and marketing through a range of activities, including developing marketing material, supporting sales specialists through all aspects of the sales cycle, identifying opportunities in the market and developing the CPM response to maximise profile and client awareness of the teams capability and offering.
• Act as a senior subject matter expert (SME) in the area of CPM, bringing practical experience from an operational/hands-on and change management perspective. This will be complimentary to the teams existing senior SME resources in the areas of Risk Capital, Quantitative Analytics and IT.
Experience and Background
• Significant experience of working as part of a credit portfolio management unit. Ideally this will be enhanced by experience of working at more than two financial institutions. This could be further complemented by experience working in an area allied to portfolio management, eg origination, coverage, credit or risk management.
• Direct and demonstratable experience of issues such as risk appetite setting, strategic planning and portfolio shaping, portfolio transfer pricing, return on risk methodologies, credit derivatives/credit structuring, public-private issues, governance, etc.
• Insight from both a technical modelling perspective (eg model development, running quantitative analytics) and business side experience working with a portfolio management related function for example origination, structuring or hedging.
