Credit & Portfolio Senior Risk Manager – Stress Testing recruitment

Job Descriptions

Objective: To understand, define risk tolerance and establish checks and balances around stressed losses (tail risk) from counterparty exposure

-Interact directly with regulators to respond to and update their concerns surrounding stress testing

-Work with senior management and credit analysts to establish best-practices of stress testing in evaluating counterparty risk, including Scenario Analysis (historical/hypothetical, regional, correlation), portfolio analysis and (comparison to counterparty free excess capital and liquidity) and risk mitigation

-Partner with regional teams and industry groups to stress portfolio based on macro-economic conditions

-Partner with Senior Risk Management to understand/mitigate impact of major market events on potential losses

-Partner with Risk Analytics to improve quantitative accuracy to stress impact calculation for all traded products

-Work with financial industry groups to develop counterparty stress testing model

-Work with Technology to help set the direction for all stress testing tools, including defining priority and specific requirements

-Provide ad-hoc support to management inquiries with respect to stress impact calculation. Diagnose problems and recommend solutions / fixes.

Skills

Job Requirements

• Solid understanding of Market Risk principles, techniques, and methodologies for OTC derivatives, Securities Financing Transactions, and cash-settled products.

• Interest in credit risk principles

• Basic understanding of business and economic statistics and how they are used in risk management principles.

• Detailed understanding of relational databases and high level of proficiency in data analysis of large data sets. Knowledge of SQL is essential.

• Ability to manage all aspects of systems projects, when necessary. This involves planning, execution and reporting across multiple platforms.

• Manage multiple tasks concurrently in an efficient and effective manner with minimal supervision.

• Strong analytical and problem solving skills required along with a high attention to detail.

• Enthusiastic, self-motivated, ability to work under pressure.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to communicate with clients and management, both verbally and written.

• Solid Microsoft Excel skills and the ability to quickly develop advanced knowledge of MS Excel and Access (or other DB front end query applications) are a must.

• Solid understanding of data analysis and data mining or a track record that demonstrates high aptitude to learn these skills.
