Sales Assistant

CRT Capital Group (CRT) provides security brokerage and research services to over 1250 institutional accounts with established counterparty relationships around the world. The Firm caters to asset managers, insurance companies, pension funds, hedge funds and investment firms. CRT, formerly known as Credit Research and Trading LLC, was founded in 1989 and employs approximately 300 individuals with a wide breadth and depth of industry knowledge.

As part of our ongoing efforts to create a comprehensive and world class investment platform, CRT has an immediate need in our Credit Sales team for a Sales Assistant.

In this role, you will work with the sales team to provide a high level of support and facilitation of trades to both the CRT team as well as customers.

Specific job responsibilities will include:

• Work with credit salesman and OPS  to insure proper processing of trades

• Perform month end client position marking function

• Insure all incoming phone calls are received and treated with discretion and professionalism

• Work to develop a level of comfort with sales client relationships and ability to manage these relationships in the absence of the salesperson.

• Attend morning credit meetings

• Work to develop an understanding of CRT research product

Qualifications:

•  Minimum of 1 year prior work experience, preferably from a related operational  or support background with a knowledge of Credit Products and related trade processing preferred.

•  Candidates should be self starting, and possess strong organizational, communication and                 customer service skills. Additionally candidates should have a strong intellectual curiosity  surrounding the industry and have the desire to learn as part of the role.

•  Demonstrable analytical and computer skills. Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft  Excel.

•  Ability to work in a high volume and fast paced environment.

•  Commitment and ability to work flexible hours.

•  Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business or related field.
