Credit Prudential Valuations

Our Corporate Center acts as a link between our three business groups, coordinating their activities and shaping how UBS does business all over the world. Its purpose is to create an environment in which each business can act entrepreneurially while adhering to the strategic aims of the group.
The Credit Valuations team works on technically challenging valuations issues facing the Fixed Income Valuations group. The team’s focus is on the validation of the final reported valuations of Credit and Financing products through a combination of independent price verification (IPV) and reserving. The results of this validation are reported through the organisation to Trading, Finance and Risk Management functions.
Valuations are seeing considerable change in the regulatory reporting requirement coming from new standards being set by our main regulators. With this added regulatory reporting requirement, the group is now being asked to enhance their reporting capability to satisfy Prudential Valuation and IFRS13 standards.
An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Credit valuation expert at AD/Director (VP) level to contribute technical input to this important project
This is an interesting and high profile role within a leading investment bank.
Role
- Embedded in and working closely with the Credit Valuations teams.
- Close interaction with global project leads for Prudential Valuations and IFRS 13.
- Devising and developing, in conjunction with existing members of staff, methodologies for the calculation of valuation uncertainty.
- Working with IT to enhance and refine existing systems to automate required calculations.
Candidate
- Detailed understanding of Credit (Bonds, CDS, Loans, Options, Structured Notes) IPV and reserving.
- Strong quantitative skill-set with full understanding of relevant pricing models.
- A strong self starter who is delivery focused with the ability to think laterally under pressure.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience of working on similar valuation projects.
