Credit Research Analyst

This is a very hands on role within the Private Bank and supporting their efforts on maintaining and driving their credit research efforts. You will be building financial models, derive internal credit ratings largely for Chinese and Singaporean companies. Its an excellent opportunity for a Credit Research Analyst to move into Private Banking!

Responsibilities will include
- Obtain SP/Moody's credit rating methodology for specified industries
- Acquire financial data from various sources such as Company web sites, Bloomberg and other regulatory filings
- Build financial models based on SP/Moody's rating methodology and input data to these models.
- Derive internal credit rating for specified number of companies based on these financial models and other qualitative considerations. The focus would predominately be on providing shadow rating for Chinese and Singaporean companies.
- Maintain financial models and conduct on-going credit surveillance on companies under coverage
- As the candidate gain experience, the role will develop to assign Buy/Hold/Sell opinions to internally rated companies and writing reports for internal clients
- Maintain databases and keep track of changes in bond recommendation and coverage list for Credit Research team
- Keep track of performance measurement for senior credit analysts
- Provide timely update for changes and performance measurement of bond model portfolio

Qualifications
- 3-5 years relevant work experience, preferably in Credit or Valuation functions (not in credit structuring dept).
- Strong analytical ability
- Solid Accounting and Financial modeling skills
- Effective Oral and Written Communication
- Familiarity with SP/ Moody's or Fitch rating methodology would be an added advantage
- Progress toward CFA preferred but not required
- Ability to speak/ read/ Mandarin Chinese a plus given the focus on local and/or Chinese companies
