Credit Research Analyst, Convertible Bonds
In this role you will sit on the convertible bonds trading desk and analyze credit information through prospectuses and financial statements to extract data relating to credit quality and corporate bond structures. Moreover, you will actively monitor both market and company specific news and compare items such as liquidity, profitability, credit history and cash, with other companies in the same industry, size and geographical location to conduct your analysis and provide ideas that will lead to and support trading activity taking place on the desk.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze credit information through prospectuses and financial statements to extract data relating to credit quality and corporate bond structures
- Monitor market and company specific news
- Compare items such as liquidity, profitability, credit history and cash, with other companies in the same industry, size and geographical location
- Examine factors such as income growth, quality of management, market share, potential risk of industry and collateral appraisal
- Evaluate financial information for trends in business, industry and economic conditions
- Gather and study company financial statements; industry regulatory and economic information and financial periodicals and newspapers
- Responsible for information and database management
Qualifications:
- Minimum of five years of experience in credit research required
- Bachelors degree in finance or accounting required; MBA and CFA preferred
- Experience with financial modeling required
- Demonstrated knowledge of convertible bonds required
- Experience interfacing with companies, negotiating restructurings and/or exchanges, required
- Working knowledge of Microsoft products (Word, Excel, and Access) required
- Experience with Bloomberg required
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment required
- Formal training in credit analysis and/or commercial banking experience preferred
