Credit Research Analyst (Non Financial Coporates)
As part of their wider plans to grow the Fixed Income business they have already internally promoted two lead credit analysts to Portfolio Management titles to manage their own PL and therefore for analysts currently on the team and new hires there is a clear track to Portfolio Management status.
You will be responsible for analysing credit-related investments to support individual securities and strategic positioning across a suite of global fixed income mandates. Key product knowledge: European non-financial corporates (utilities, industrials). Ability to cover both investment grade and high yield companies.
They believe in longevity and their investment team has evolved over the years to include some of the industry's leading players who believe that success is in always being aware of risks, managing with conviction and maintaining focus on long-term growth within fund management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide well developed credit-related investment recommendations to assist positioning in all the Global Fixed Income portfolios.
- Use the proprietary investment platform to record and update all investment views on a timely basis
- Assists in monitoring performance and pro-actively reviews investment recommendations to produce consistent long-term results
- Interact with clients, brokers and consultants to promote the Global Investment Grade products as required
- Examine and monitor legislative, regulatory and economic developments across industry sectors, assisting the investment decision-making process.
- Ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements and laws
- Serves on investment committees and other committees as needed
Qualifications:
• Would typically have proven experience of high yield and investment grade credit analysis in European/global (ex-US) markets
• A proven track record in analysing non-financial companies
• Possessing strong credit research skills, this individual will have demonstrated success as a decision-maker
• Educated to degree level or equivalent
• A Master’s degree in finance, economics, mathematics or other business-related field of study preferred
CFA designation or accountancy qualification preferred
• Team player who is comfortable in a collaborative team-oriented environment
• Excellent presentation skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Effective with both brokers and consultants
• Ability to influence and persuade others
• Open minded, flexible, and willing to listen for other peoples’ opinions
• Effective interpersonal skills necessary to work both within the team and organization-wide
