CREDIT REVIEW / FIXED INCOME AUDITOR – AVP/VP recruitment
Our client is one of the most aggressive banks providing a range of banking services to a global network of clients. The Internal Audit Division oversees the activities of all its offices in the region to ensure ongoing adherence to best practices and regulatory requirements. An outstanding opportunity has recently arisen for a talented experienced professional to join its audit team.
Responsibilities
- Perform, support or lead where directed, the planning, fieldwork, and reporting of internal audit engagements to deliver agreed assurance objectives to established standards and timelines
- Establish and develop effective working relationships with Management of business units for which incumbent has risk assessment responsibility
- Act as liaison with Management to ensure full understanding of business strategy, plans, products, performance and risk-related issues at business unit level and communicating these to the relevant Functional Team members via bottom-up continuing risk assessments and dialogue
- Advise the regional audit team of all significant risk, control, and regulatory issues that arise during the audit
- Support the development of junior staff through job training and coaching
- Develop and demonstrate comprehensive understanding and technical expertise of the business/products
Requirements
- At least 5 years of audit or accounting experience in a public accounting firm or financial institution
- Strong commercial banking product and services knowledge, e.g. trade finance, commodity finance, loans, project financing, ship finance, syndications, funds transfers etc.
- A good honors degree in accounting, finance or related discipline
- Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken
- Good project management skills
