Credit Risk Accounting Manager recruitment

This position will be responsible for managing, reviewing and overseeing the accounting functions related to credit risk matters such as charge-offs, provisions, reserve and associated regulatory reporting issues. Primary responsibilities include supervision of the monthly close process; monthly, quarterly and end-of year reporting; creating/implementing procedures to identify resolve and document accounting issues; and evaluating ways to ensure accounting systems and reports are allowing for efficient and accurate output.

In this role you will:
1. Formulate and administer accounting and/or reporting practices for assigned area of responsibility. Provide direction in the management of practices in area of specialization. Ensure required reports are filed in a timely and accurate manner.
2. Manage daily accounting operations of the group.
3. Prepare, examine, and analyze accounting records, financial statements and other financial and operational reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting, procedural standards and GAAP.
4. Ensure compliance with regulations set forth by Sarbanes-Oxley Act and administer internal controls and reporting.
5. Ensure proper and timely reconciliation of balance sheet accounts, investor accounts, and bank accounts
6. Liaise with external and internal auditors.

Qualifications:
• Strong accounting experience in banking/credit institution, especially on matters related to credit risk: charge-offs, provisions, reserve, and associated regulatory reporting
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required
•Master’s/Advanced Degree in Business/Accounting preferred
• Required license(s) or certifications CPA including keeping abreast of current accounting pronouncements preferred
• 8+ in Banking/Financial services industry
• 3+ years of supervisory or managerial experience
• Experience with TDR (Trouble Debt Restructuring)
• Thorough knowledge of U.S. GAAP; some knowledge of international accounting standards; regulatory topics such as capital issues and GAAP accounting issues as they relate to the banking industry
• Thorough knowledge of financial and cost accounting, financial analysis, and principles of economics; thorough knowledge of financial institution balance sheet and profit and loss analysis techniques
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Ability to work under tight timeframes and manage stress
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficient knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint and General Ledger Systems
• Experience with Hyperion Management System preferred
• Will supervise a team of 2 or more Professional Staff
