Credit Risk Analyst – Energy Trading recruitment

Really good and interesting openings for two Energy experienced Credit Risk Analysts to join a growing team that supports Trading activity.

Specific responsibilities

• Counterparty assessment – analysing counterparties’ credit worthiness in order to recommend appropriate credit limits and credit support (PCGs, L/Cs etc) where necessary. 

• Credit control – regular renewal and continuous monitoring of counterparty status and anticipation and management of breaches and exceptions.

• Counterparty maintenance – developing and maintaining relationships with counterparties including support in negotiating trading documentation and maximising the credit lines.

• Credit support provision – identifying the requirements for credit support for exchanges, operators and certain new business activities (not core trading) and evaluating and procuring the most cost-effective forms of credit support. 

• Raising of finance – under the oversight of the Head of Financing be involved in bank relationship management and occasional transactions related to letter of credit issuance and short term working capital funding.

Must have's

Qualifications

• Degree level education (2.1 or above, or equivalent). Numerate subject preferred.

Skills

• Understanding of the key elements of Credit Risk Management with an emphasis on credit assessment in a commodity trading or commercial banking environment.

• Ability to produce accurate credit papers and reports within tight deadlines.

• Understanding of risk reports (e.g. Value at Risk, Economic Capital) and their role within corporate governance.

• Experience of bank related financing.

• Fluent in English. Other language skills would be a benefit.
