Credit Risk Analyst – German speaking recruitment
Job Description
The successful candidate will join the Managed Funds team within the Financial Institutions department. He/she will have direct responsibility for a large portfolio of asset managers acting for investment funds and pension schemes. The role involves fund assessment in order to recommend ratings and credit limits; risk assessment of derivatives, trading exposure and capital markets transactions, and structuring of legal documentation.
Objectives of Role and Competencies:
Client:
- The job involves constant interaction with the various business units and other support functions (legal, compliance, operations among others)
- The candidate should be able to provide recommendations to Credit Officers and manage live transactions, frequently under tight timeframes
People:
- As part of a small team in London, the candidate will work closely with colleagues locally, in Stamford and in Krakow. Given the size of the portfolio, teamwork is of great importance and you will be expected to provide absence cover for designated colleagues
Economic:
- Understand the business requirements of the portfolio, analyse transactions with a view of providing creative solutions in order to accommodate the business within the risk framework of the bank
Functional/Technical:
- To understand the legal and regulatory environment relative to the portfolio
- To understand and manage the front to back process for a new relationship – account opening, risk assessment, rating, limit setting, and legal documentation, proactively manage limit excesses and deal with related system issues
- To understand relevant risk policies
- To maintain a large volume of data and portfolio specific information on a real time basis, manage the annual counterparty review process within accepted tolerances and keep abreast of developments affecting the creditworthiness of the portfolio and changes in the legal and regulatory environment.
Requirements
- The candidate is expected to be a team player but also have the ability to work independently / with limited supervision
- You should have a good knowledge of bank operations, good communication skills (written and oral) and understand the importance of strong working relationships
- Adequate knowledge of bank operations, systems, products – equity and rate derivatives beneficial
