Risk and Compliance provide risk and compliance services across all BNY Mellon businesses. Organizationally, Risk and Compliance includes the following groups: Risk Management, Compliance, Global Corporate Security, Information Risk Management and Global Business Continuity. Risk Management oversees and delivers risk services and ensures new business risks are reviewed and approved. Risk Management is organized through Chief Risk Offices for each core business and critical operation. Risk managers provide shared support to BNY Mellon for operational risk services for Global Corporate Trust, Depositary Receipts, Treasury Services and Global Operations in EMEA. Compliance helps ensure BNY Mellon's businesses maintain appropriate processes to comply with applicable laws, regulations, BNY Mellon policies and ethics. This is accomplished through business- and business partner-specific teams of professionals, under centralized global management.

Description

Analyst will assist in the creation of underwriting packages for use in the approval process. Incumbent will work closely with the account analyst (Credit Relationship Manager) and CPMs to generate underwriting documents that are clear and concise. These documents will focus on evaluating the credit worthiness of the customer. The analysis will provide an overview of the company S financial statements, competitive position, including industry analysis and risks, strengths and weaknesses, liquidity and debt service capacity. The analysis is expected to result in a well-reasoned conclusion and a clear rationale for the assignment of an internal rating. The terms of the transaction should be summarized. Aggregate credit exposures will be obtained and any recommended changes must be clearly communicated. Will provide limited support for portfolio Pool of Risk reviews including gathering appropriate internal and external financial data related to the industry and general economy. The analyst will be expected to develop an understanding of the BNY Mellon s various products and services. The position will require some travel and interaction with customers. Additional training as needed to enhance skills is expected.

Qualifications

Require minimum experience of 2 to 3 years in commercial lending, markets and/or analytical functions experience in the financial or professional services industry. BA degree required, preferred in Finance or Accounting/MBA preferred or equivalent. Credit Training is a pre-requisite. Strong oral and written communication skill; strong analytical thinking and problem solving skills and ability to work independently are required. PC literacy including Bloomberg expertise is needed. A BA degree, preferred in Finance or Accounting /MBA in accounting or finance, preferred and strong oral and written communication skill; strong analytical thinking and problem solving skills. PC literacy including proficiency in Excel, Word, and Internet is required. Nature and complexity of problems and underwriting varies, depending on circumstances, including business conditions, industry, economic environment, stagey, opportunities, relationship background and consideration of credit and structure. Nature and area of impact of the Credit Risk Analyst position relates to the credit appetite of the market and the Firm s strategy in connection with credit and extension of credit to various industries or wealth mgt relationships. Additionally, the Analyst works with and receives feedback from the various Businesses on the impact of how credit is handled and perceived by the BNYM customer. Feedback could be either positive or negative, depending on the circumstances. The Analyst also works in supporting the CRM and assists with credit reviews and the preparation of documentation for the proposals of credit extensions. Interaction for the Analyst is internal and on an external basis, limited, Interaction will consist of credit discussions related to business, industry, economic environment, stagey, opportunities, relationship background and consideration of credit and structure.
