Credit Risk Analyst recruitment
The position will be working in the Investment Credit Risk Department of Nomura International plc. The department is involved with a diverse set of international business areas, from counterparty exposure across the credit spectrum to specialist private equity, structured debt financing, principal investments and structured debt and equity products. The department is expected to add value through both the exercise of credit judgement and control whilst also contributing to the business through the active development of credit and structuring ideas.
The candidate will report to the one of the Department’s senior credit officers. Day to day responsibilities will include the following:
- Undertake detailed credit analysis and complete annual, or if necessary more frequent, reviews of trading counterparties within EMEA region.
- Banks
- Corporates
- Funds (including Hedge Funds)
- Insurance Companies
- Other Financial Institutions
- As part of the review, the analyst will recommend an internal credit rating for the counterparty.
- The review will incorporate evaluation of the counterparty’s annual reports, spreads, recent news articles and market position/pricing information.
- Propose credit terms incorporated in legal documentation (ISDA, CSA, GMSLA, GMRA, OSLA etc).
- The analyst will remain informed on current market trends and operating environments, adopting a pro-active and forward looking mindset when exercising judgement, generating ratings and proposing credit mitigants as part of holistic approach to risk management.
- Collate and report information on the level of existing Nomura credit limits and exposures for counterparties together with details of legal documentation held.
Candidate
- Educated to degree level or similar.
- Ideally one or two years of credit analysis experience, although we will consider candidates with less experience.
- Understanding of Credit Rating Agency ratings.
- Strong quantitative as well as qualitative credit skills.
- Preferably will have had exposure to, and a detailed understanding of, derivatives documentation.
- Computer skills – Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
- Excellent oral and written presentation skills.
