Position Description:
Seeking a Credit Analyst at the associate level with proven experience in the REIT/Real Estate, Lodging and/or Gaming sectors, with a minimum of three years experience. Preference for strong accounting/finance education and skills as well as knowledge of loan and capital markets products.

Morgan Stanley is active in corporate lending, derivatives trading and other securities lending activities. The Credit Risk Management Department ("CRM") acts as the guardian of the Firm's capital in these and other risk transactions. Credit reviews and approves all Firm counterparties for risk transactions and approves and monitors the exposure generated by bank/bridge loans and trading activity, in order to protect the Firm from borrower default and/or counterparty risk.

Skills Required:
• Support with potential to manage the approval process for new loans and renewal of existing facilities in the REIT, Gaming and Lodging sectors including in depth due diligence with financial sponsors and prospective borrowers when appropriate; produce financial base and downside case modeling to assess borrower's likelihood of repayment; assign loss given default levels for new credit facilities; present credit analysis for loan approvals to internal commitment committee; monitor ongoing compliance with covenants for existing loans; author formal annual credit reviews for all counterparties in the portfolio; more frequent reviews will be required for criticized and impaired credits.

• Provide support and eventual management of a portfolio of counterparties in the REIT, Gaming and Lodging sectors. Primary duties include: perform financial and credit analyses to maintain credit-specific ratings; track and monitor counterparty compliance in accordance with contractual terms and Firm limits; keep current on industry trends, news, accounting requirements and rating agency criteria.

• The ideal candidate will have three or more years of REIT/Real Estate, Gaming and/or Lodging credit analysis experience specifically (other financial institutions credit experience a plus) and the ability to analyze risk-based transactions with a focus on corporate lending preferred.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; quantitative orientation; ability to manage dynamic priorities; finance and/or accounting degree preferred. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of three years of relevant experience.
