Credit Risk Business Analyst

Credit Benchmark provides innovative consensus credit risk data and analytics to the global financial services industry. Bank credit risk departments are our core customers: we want to understand them, and how they can benefit from our data, better. We therefore seek an individual with detailed knowledge of the processes, business requirements, management imperatives and challenges of the credit risk function, to infuse this into every aspect of our company.

The Credit Benchmark leadership team has an excellent track record of founding, growing and exiting innovative businesses in the financial information space.  We believe this role represents a fantastic opportunity for a credit risk business analyst who wants to leverage their detailed domain knowledge at a more expansive and highly practical level within a high-growth business.

On a day-day basis, our credit risk business analyst will work hand-in-hand with the CEO and co-founders of the business, as well as with our credit modeling and data specialists, and should expect to become involved in all aspects of developing our business. Specific responsibilities will also include:

•    Documenting and validating current and new use cases for Credit Benchmark data, communicating internally and to data contributors and clients at a finely detailed and strongly evidenced level how our information can increase productivity, efficiency and accuracy within bank credit risk departments

•    Working with our credit modeling experts to develop and validate Credit Benchmark’s own data rules and processes

•    Developing deep relationships with current and prospective data contributors and customers, and assisting sales and relationship managers in developing and managing their pipelines

•    Establishing and leading a methodology working group bringing together and progressing key issues with Credit Benchmark’s customers

Qualifications and Attributes

•    You will be flexible and comfortable with a highly fluid environment. As a new, rapid-growth business our core focus is clear, but our day-day activities vary widely. Everyone on our team multi-tasks and gets involved across the board – something we find hugely motivating and rewarding

•    You will need to be a strong communicator. You will immediately be an ambassador for Credit Benchmark in client, regulator and investor situations; ideally you would have the potential to represent Credit Benchmark at industry events and conferences

•    You will have spent 4-7 years within the banking-side credit risk department of one or more global banks. Additional experience in a non-bank financial such as an insurance company, asset manager or hedge fund would be an advantage

•    Exposure to regulators, regulatory frameworks, reporting and processes would be extremely valuable

•    Fluent in English; additional languages a plus. Ability to work within the EU is required

•    Highly numerate, ideally with an undergraduate qualification in maths/stats, computer science or engineering
