Credit Risk Business Analyst – Group Risk recruitment

My client a Tier 1 Investment Banks based in the City has a requiement for a Business Analyst to join their Finance-Group Risk Control Team.

Finance-Group Risk Control is responsible for the measurement and reporting of credit risk for all Over the Counter traded derivative products  for Management Information Systems and regulatory reporting purposes.

The Daily Validation Control team within Finance-Group Risk Control gathers trade, market and static data from the various business areas throughout the bank, which is used by the Credit Risk Engine to calculate credit exposure against counterparties using Monte Carlo simulation

The team’s aim is to ensure accuracy of data which is an input into Potential Future Exposure (PFE) and Expected Positive Exposure (EPE) for regulatory risk reporting as well as Credit Risk Management. The Daily VC team monitors daily feeds into the Credit risk engine and defines data quality validation controls and data quality reporting around data affecting current exposure PFE and EPE. The team also works on continuous feed system improvements between upstream source systems and the Credit Risk Engine calculating current and future exposure for the banks’ global OTC derivatives portfolio.

Key Responsibilities:

a) Process Re-engineering:
• Working on continuous trade and market data feed improvements for the Credit Risk Engine conducting feed and data analysis as well as writing functional specs for fixes and executing User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
• Support the re-engineering of Daily Credit Risk Validation Control team processes within the London Group Risk Control team, realising improved synergies between Manila and London through streamlining processes.
• Application of improved process through rigour, discipline, and structure. To be realised through a mix of consolidating and streamlining current processes.
• Clearer, transparent communication channels. Clean and concise planning – applied with discipline, marketed accordingly.
• Responsibility for the design, specification and implementation of high impact solutions around this framework.
• Application of the above - will reduce Operational and Financial Reporting Risk by assisting the overall re-engineering of the entire Risk submission process.
• Subsequent scheduling a ‘remediation’ book of work based off diagnostics performed around the poor Data Quality and processes, employing strong Business Analysis, Analytical, and Project Management skills.

You will have:

• Proven hands-on experience from a production support and / or change perspective working on Credit risk system feeds as a project manager / business analyst.
• A highly structured approach, the ability to analyze complex processes and data, the ability to communicate these to business stakeholders and senior management and the ability to define robust data quality solutions.
• Good product knowledge including complex derivatives products.
• Attention to detail with an analytical mindset.
• Strong communication skills, both orally and written.
• Sound analysis knowledge of Access, Excel, Database Analysis tools (Toad which uses SQL to source data from a central database etc).
• An Investment Bank background as preferred.
