Purpose of the Role
Responsible for risk assessment of products including but not limited to direct counterparty risks, market risks, credit default risks, legal regulatory risks tied to the perfection enforcement of Bank’s security interests.
Key Accountabilities
• Work closely with Credit Policy Risk teams in Zurich London as well as Products team to ensure that all aspects of credit market risks are duly raised and addressed in Product Services’ initiatives and efforts, while balancing market expectations for Loanable Values of products.
• To ensure that all Loanable Values assigned are in line with credit policies are maintained in Wealth Management and RBS Group requirements. Also to ensure all HO local regulations legal requirements are duly complied for Asia’s credit business operations.
• To provide credit input/recommendations on new banking products.
• Work with Credit Ops who is fully responsible for ensuring that credit documentation remains fully fit for purpose, in conjunction with Legal Services.
• To provide credit input to projects as and when required.
• Effective management of credit market risk in products.
• Active involvement in credit aspects of product development.
• Assist in the development and delivery of robust and timely risk reporting in products.
• Ensure that Coutts Asia provides a competitive credit product offering consistent with Wealth Management and RBS Group risk appetite.
Critical Competencies: skills and abilities required for the role
• Knowledge and understanding of Private Banking credit, policies, processes and procedures.
• Ability to prepare accurate and focused written reports.
• Strong analytical and technical skills with an ability to apply in a practical and balanced manner.
• Working knowledge of Banking laws and regulations.
• Good knowledge of IT systems and high level of general IT skills.
• Ability to work as part of a small, highly motivated credit team combined with strong interpersonal skills.
• Good presentation communication skills with an eye for details.
• Work well under pressure and tight timelines.
