Credit Risk Manager (NYC or Chicago)

Position Summary

Lead in establishing credit policy vis-à-vis monitoring the financial condition and credit profile of counterparties across the Clearing  House, including member firms, settlement and custodial banks, line of credit banks, letter of credit issuing banks, acceptable collateral, and liquidity needs. Conduct and present ad-hoc analysis of institutions and topics of interest to senior management. Manage communication and presentation of policy to clients and regulatory bodies, working with respective regulatory bodies on approval and oversight as required.

Manage the renewal of the clearing house credit facility and other liquidity programs. Maintain and enhance relationships with our clients Line of Credit banks and other capital providers. Evaluation of new forms of collateral and new methods of collateralizing credit and risk exposures. Create logical frameworks for limits and haircuts for acceptable collateral.

Lead a broad range of projects which may be of market risk in nature, new product initiatives, new partnership proposals, and/or systems development. Monitor compliance with the organization Credit Control Policy.

Qualifications

The position requires expertise in credit analysis with the ability to engage in a wide range of projects. Requirements of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

MBA or related Master's degree preferably in Finance; 5+ years direct credit analysis experience; formal credit training with preferred experience in analysis of financial institutions; demonstrated quantitative, analytical and problem solving skills; and the ability to work flexibly in a team environment.  Expertise in Microsoft Office, strong oral and written communication skills, and the ability to work with a variety of complex systems are highly desired. Clearing industry experience is a plus.
