Credit Risk Officer
The Credit Officer will review and approve standard, non-standard as well as structured credit transactions, respond to collateral margin shortfall situations, handling queries from the originating units, and participate in the overall control framework for credit products.
In addition, the role is responsible for documentation governance, credit system management and training and development.
Key tasks and responsibilities include:
- Regular interaction with client advisors and senior management to discuss credit transactions, but also assist and educate in the set up of credit products
- Closely involved with the specialist credit functions covering monitoring, reporting, or collateral and derivative evaluation
- Competency and advisory function for credit products with easy access for business partners
- Keep abreast of regulatory changes and how processes and systems need to accommodate them effectively
- Be the functional champion for documentation management (credit policies and procedures) and identifying where efficiencies can be gained in existing processes
- Promote an integrated team and share knowledge, experience and best practices
- Manage Credit system upgrades and implementations
- Manage the Credit Training program for Client Advisors and new staff
- Adhere to the margin call / close out process within dedicated competences and authorities
- Manage Credit system upgrades and implementation
Our ideal candidate will possess the following:
- 5-7 years of professional experience and about 5 years of credit function in financial industry
- Knowledge of credit related regulations and guidelines
- Understanding of risk reporting requirements and guidelines
- Finance, Accounting, Economics degree or equivalent
- Excellent communication skills
