We are a small department and a very small team, so the successful candidate—in addition to the baseline credit officer role—will need to be flexible and hardworking enough to pick up any aspect of running the business.

As a Credit Risk Officer your skills and qualifications will ideally include:

Should be an experienced credit officer holding delegated approval authority, at a major investment bank, covering financial institutions.  Strong plus would be recent experience of emerging markets banks.

Must have relevant university degree or equivalent, or relevant postgrad professional qualification such as the risk-focused FRM qualification, CFA, or an accountancy qualification

A plus would be familiarity with another major European language, and still positive even if not quite at full fluency

Essential skills:

• Strong analytical skills;

• Strong investment banking product knowledge, especially derivatives

• Strong knowledge and understanding of traded products master agreements, e.g. ISDA

• Strong problem solving skills.

Other required skills:

• Team player

• Self-motivated / self starting

• Leadership — Able to lead people either on client related transactions, CRM or cross business working groups, as required

• DD—Able to conduct due diligence meetings with senior client representatives unsupervised

• Strong communication skills — verbal and written fluency in English is the very minimum

• Strong negotiation skills

• Strong inter-personal skills, especially influencing and personal impact.
