SUMMARY
Under minimal supervision, act as the technical lead for our Credit Union customers implementing the OpCon automation solution. Responsible for some aspects of installing new or enhanced software applications including customer preparation and post installation training and support. There will be up to 50% travel at times during the work months. This position is located within the Symitar division of Jack Henry and Associates, Inc. www.symitar.com
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Understands the needs and requirements of our Credit Union customers, with knowledge of both front-end and back-office processing.
- Provides remote or on-site software implementation and support services.
- Possess at least, minimal knowledge of Unix / AIX, with emphasis on being able to navigate through it's file structure, as well as the use of simple commands.
- Possess knowledge of basic shell scripting with the ability to quickly learn advanced shell scripting
- Have the ability to grasp simple programming languages and make simple modifications based on customer needs.
- Prior to the installation, analyzes the customers’ existing processing and consults with project team to ensure continuity or streamlining of processing, with automation in mind.
- Facilitate weekly pre-installation calls with customer and project team.
- Consults with customers to define parameters within the software application.
- Trains the customer on use and feature functionality of the application.
- Communicates the customer’s needs/expectations to project team.
- Notifies appropriate personnel of any application issues.
- Interacts with Project Manager on various issues.
- May assist customers in validating accurate conversion of all data.
- May analyze transaction processing.
- Mentors and provides training to employees.
- Contributes to process and efficiency improvements.
- May assist less experienced peers.
Job Requirements:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Knowledge of Credit Union back office processing
- Shell scripting is desired.
- Able to travel up to 50-60%.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of two years of operations experience in a financial institution or related field; or
- An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
- Has a wide range of experience and able to resolve complex issues. Works on complex and diverse projects. Analysis requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors. Exercises good judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining solutions.
- Excellent knowledge of the financial industry.
- Excellent knowledge of data conversion methods.
- Excellent knowledge of software platforms and operating systems.
- Able to successfully install new or enhanced software applications.
- Able to train customers on use of software applications.
- Able to communicate with customers and provide outstanding customer service.
- Able to complete advanced troubleshooting and resolve issues.
- Able to meet aggressive deadlines.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Typical office setting, with environmentally controlled conditions.
- Able to work extended hours, weekends and holidays as business needs dictate.
- Overnight travel may be required.
