Position Description:
Mid-sized credit union seeks an experienced, well educated AVP of Branch Operations to service members' commercial and retail banking needs.

The position will deal heavily with member service, internal controls, policies and procedures, operations and will have minimal overlap to sales/marketing.

Travel up to 30% with direct reports in about 10 of 18 branches. Responsibility also includes three Branch Managers with dotted line reporting.

This position will report directly to the CEO of Farmers Insurance Group Federal Credit Union, Los Angeles.

Position Requirements:
• Supervises assigned personnel, most of whom are off-site.
• Travels extensively to multiple branch offices to carry out the job duties described herein.
• Monitors branch operations to ensure a consistent, professional approach in meeting members' financial needs.
• Supplements internal audit work in branches by auditing all branch work, including (but not limited to) cash, negotiables, security compliance, procedural compliance, and branch operations/expenses.
• Analyzes branch procedures for logic, effectiveness and compliance with applicable governmental regulations and makes appropriate recommendations for updates and enhancements.
• Assists staff and/or members in solving complex account problems; answers questions on products and services, policies and procedures, or rules and regulations.
• Adjudicates loan applications in loan officer capacity (approval level between Loan Supervisor authority and VP's authority); assists in lending policies and procedures training of branch lending personnel.
• Responsible for all zone service and sales training. Provides sales tools and coaching to support branch personnel in attainment of quantitative goals.
• Develops and implements zone marketing strategies to achieve annual sales goals in accordance with management objectives.
• Prepares annual Capital Budget request and recommends/administers zone marketing/training/operations budget. Makes field sales presentations at BCOs, Agent/DM meetings, Agent Expos, and regional employee functions. Provides opportunities for branch staff to expand field marketing.
• Assists in the administration and functioning of telecommunications network, including data and voice lines, printers, ATMs, etc.
• Coordinates major and minor physical facility changes for branch remodels and ATM installations, communicating with Farmers Building Services and arranging for multiple vendors to have synchronous schedules.
• Works closely with Farmers management in each location to address and resolve problems/issues, e.g., HR matters, security.
• Promotes safety at all times and complies with safety/ergonomic standards as outlined in relevant company published manuals.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
