Credit – Credit / Factor Coordinator
Position is located in our Kearny, NJ office
Mandatory Requirements:
Must have factor related experience within the apparel industry
Overview:
This position establishes policies and procedures for working with our factor, providing support to our international accounts, managing processes for credit card and prepay accounts, reconciling returns and credits, and managing the Chargeback area.
Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in accounting, finance or related field
- A minimum 5 years experience in Credit and Collections in the Apparel field
- Strong computer skills – Blue Cherry a plus
- Vast understanding of credit reporting agencies
- Excellent written and verbal communications
- Ability to manage relationships internally and externally
- Strong audit background, problem solving and customer service skills
- Fast paced environment
Essential Functions:
- Work with Factor on all credit approvals, credit declines, and open invoices for payment.
- Supervise and perform when needed, the process of Special Orders
- Review collection reports to ascertain status of collections and balances outstanding before release of shipment.
- Assure that all Commercial Invoices for International shipments were created and sent out.
- Manage the credit card and prepay accounts to maximize shipping amount while maintaining limited financial exposure
- Manage chargeback area to prevent and collect disputed items
- Supervise the returns and credit process to insure all returns are entered correctly and that the credits have been properly taken
- Work with the warehouse to insure compliance of chargeback related issues as well as the returns process
- Communicate with the allocation department to facilitate the shipment of all credit approved orders
