Critical Systems Engineer recruitment

Position Summary

This position reports to the Asia FM Lead, and will interface closely with the other sub-regional Heads in Asia, as well as Regional Global Heads. This position will have primary responsibility for the reliable day-to-day operation of the critical systems infrastructure supporting business, trading, and data center operations for the firm’s facilities and office operations in Japan Korea, and other places where and when required..

Principal Responsibilities

• Work with CSRE regional, global team and IT department to establish and review critical systems strategy to meet the firm’s business requirement.
• Ensure that the critical MEP infrastructure supporting business operations is operated and maintained to the highest standards of reliability and efficiency and in accordance with the firm’s global engineering policies and procedures.
• Coordinate with other Critical Systems Engineers and sub-regional counterparts in Asia to identify opportunities to enhance reliability and minimize risk.
• Work closely with the IT department to support day-to-day change management activity and manage capacity in the firm’s data centers, technology spaces, and trading environments.
• Manage the onsite vendors providing facility management engineering operations services ensuring that all work is performed in accordance with the firm’s policies.
• Work closely with the Facility Management team in the development and management of annual operations and capital budgets for all facilities.
• Ensure accurate and timely reporting of infrastructure capacity, data center utilization, and overall operational performance using the Firm’s standardized reporting processes.  
• Work with the Capital Projects team in developing engineering design and construction standards, and testing/commissioning standards that provide the basis of requirements for consultants, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
• Act as the Facility Management team stakeholder for critical system design and operational requirements for all new construction and expansion activity within critical environments.
• Coordinate with Capital Projects and Technology to ensure that construction activity in live data center environments is performed in accordance with approved work control processes to mitigate business impact associated with high risk work.
• Primary responsibility for assessing and communicating potential for business impact to critical systems and environments resulting from external and internal events and ensure that appropriate resources and processes are utilized to mitigate risk of business interruption.

Experience / Skills

• Bachelor’s Degree in engineering.
• Minimum of 10 years of facilities management experience preferably with financial institutions or other technology intensive organizations with 5 or more years experience with trading and data center operations.
• Broad understanding of critical systems infrastructure, risk mitigation practices for operation and maintenance of critical systems, and demonstrated experience working with IT organizations in the planning and operational of data center environments.
• Demonstrated experience developing and implementing energy management and environmental compliance programs.
• Proficient with the suite of Microsoft Office software.
• High language proficiency in both English and Japanese.
