Critical Systems Technician

Position Description:

We are currently seeking a Critical Systems Craftsperson at the Comprehensive-Advanced level to work an eight-hour day shift in order to ensure all equipment in the Critical Systems is operated and maintained within safe operating and correct GMP parameters.

Familiarity with the operation of the following Continuous Process Unit Operations such that maintenance issues with respect to the equipment and their fluid distribution can be proactively identified and implemented:
1. Steam generation and distribution. (Gas Fired and Waste Heat Boilers)
2. Condensate distribution (Pumps and piping)
3. Water pretreatment (Carbon Filtration, Softeners and RO)
4. Compressed air systems (Oil Free Air Compressors and refrigerant Dryers)
5. Cooling Towers (pumps, fans, gear boxes, and chemical treatment)
6. Chillers (Pumps)
7. WFI Production (Stills ) and Distribution (Gaskets and Valves)
8. Gas Fired Turbines (electrical production)
9. PID Control fundamentals
10.PLC input / output fundamentals

Ability to diagnose problems and implement solution to Process Equipment:
1. Pumps and Fans up to 400 hp
2. Steam Compressors
3. Air Compressors and Dryers
4. Control Valves (both pneumatic and electronic)

Ability to perform in house maintenance to all Critical Systems Equipment:
1. Equipment alignment using both dial and laser instruments
2. Complete overhaul of pumps (bearing, seals, impellers)
3. Vibration Monitoring
4. Thermal Monitoring
5. Repair and modifications to small piping systems (Boiler Level trees, chemical feed systems)
6. Maintain and repair water condensate systems
7. Maintain and replace equipment filters and lubrication systems
8. Maintain and repair Steam piping systems (steam valves, steam traps, steam condensate piping)
9. Repair and overhaul as required any of the equipment following manufacturers maintenance manuals and guidelines
10. Oversee outside maintenance resources where appropriate
11. Manage PM’s of equipment including use of outside resources
12. Familiar with the safe operation of (including but not limited to) grinders, die taps, pipe thread machine, rigging fundamentals, basic welding / copper soldering equipment, pipe fitting and tubing systems.

To qualify for this position candidates must possess at least an AA degree from 2 year college / technical school OR equivalent experience OR successful BBraun Assessment Test Results. Must be able to lift 50 lbs with no physical limitations, ability to climb and work atop ladders and in possible awkward positions. Minimum of 5 years of maintenance experience in a continuous process environment. Must possess own tools sufficient with maintenance and repair of heavy duty industrial equipment.
