The Mumbai Technology team is responsible for supporting application and infrastructure needs across the Mumbai office for all Business Units – Equities, FICC, Federation, GSAM, IBD and GIR. The on-site team leverages the broader regional teams in Tokyo, Hong Kong and Bangalore for projects and day to day support.

The Cross Divisional Projects Architecture (“XDIV”) team, often described as an internal management consulting group, oversees projects involving some of the most complex business challenges that we face. XDIV also serves as the custodian of the firm’s
functional architecture and oversees all changes to the books and records of the firm. The team has personnel based in Tokyo, Hong Kong, Beijing, Bangalore, Mumbai and Seoul. Although the department is housed within Technology, an application development or programming background is not a prerequisite.

The candidate would report to the Mumbai Technology manager locally and regionally to the XDIV manager. Candidate should have an overall hands-on project management experience of 8 or more  years in financial industry with exposure to broker-dealer and investment banking businesses. Candidate would be required to work closely with Senior Business management, Compliance, Operations, Controllers and other departments on active business initiatives that require Technology build or support.  As a business analyst in XDIV, the candidate will get a close, hands-on look at the business to examine their needs and, working with a project team, be responsible for defining, designing and managing the implementation of solutions.

The candidate will be responsible for the assessment, prioritization, implementation and review of large scale, cross divisional initiatives that span the India business. These projects include enabling new businesses and products, responding to industry and regulatory driven initiatives as well as implementing internal efficiency and control improvements.

This role is very visible and involves interaction with senior management across the Securities business and also the Federation. At the same time, the candidate will interface with local and global technology teams, trading desks and federation users in Mumbai/Bangalore/Tokyo/Hong Kong/Singapore.  The candidate will be expected to come up to speed quickly and work on key tasks related to ongoing projects across all
businesses in the Mumbai office.

Development Prospects
The XDIV role is highly visible both across the Federation and Revenue divisions as well as within and outside of India.  The candidate will learn the various business functions of the firm, some in great detail. The candidate will build upon business analyst and project management competencies and employ skills in a challenging and dynamic environment. An employee who succeeds in this role has opportunities throughout the firm both in Technology as well as in other areas of the firm. XDIV plays a leading role in most all firmwide initiatives in every major GS office globally.

SKILL / EXPERIENCE

Mandatory:

The candidate must have extensive experience in working on projects involving multiple stakeholders across the region. He/she should be able to drive initiatives and build consensus at a broad range of levels of the organization.
