The Default Senior RM is responsible for the administration of distressed and defaulted deals where BNYM acts as Trustee (or any other fiduciary role) in order to develop and execute on strategies to maximize recovery for investors. Each Default SRM will be responsible for their own portfolio of transactions and will ensure BNYM fulfills its duties and obligations as set out in the transaction documents and applicable governing law . This role requires an extraordinary amount of knowledge across all structures and legal documentation used globally in the debt capital markets and also extensive awareness of distressed work-outs scenarios as well as global bankruptcy and insolvency regimes.

Although bond issues administered in the US, EMEA and APAC are usually governed by English or New York law the issuers of, and the assets securing the debt, may be located in other countries hence there is exposure to enforcement action in multiple jurisdictions. There will be close interaction and strong relationships with external professionals such as lawyers, financial advisors and other insolvency practitioners.

The Default SRM is also responsible to ensure the CSM teams adhere to BNYMs default management policies, procedures and best practices and use of the Defaults Database to coordinate regular status updates to management and corporate trust committees. The Default SRM is an SME and will regularly advise internally on wider CT business risks.

The Default SRM will act as a liaison internally with the relevant business partners, TMG, Trust Committee/ and external parties (such as investors, issuers and advisors) and will accordingly escalate high risk items to senior management and CARL in a timely manner. Extensive knowledge of local depositary/operational practices to coordinate investor communications is an added advantage.

Qualifications

BA/ BS required or extensive financial services experience. Capital Markets experience and/ or legal experience gain in financial instruments preferred.
