Group Description

The Global Transaction Services Activity Based Costing team is responsible for developing and maintaining an analytical cost model for the GTS business. The team is focused on the development of a unique set of analytical tools that enable management to examine cost drivers and behaviors. The cost model will support improved business decisions related to strategic cost management as well as client product profitability and pricing, and will enable internal and external benchmarking. The analytics will cover Product and Region dimensions leveraging a vertical and horizontal model.
The program team will carry out two key sets of activities: 1. Building an Activity Based Costing model to measure and analyze the business activities and volumes that drive workload and cost to serve, 2. Driving data collection across the organization facilitating model development; ultimately understanding process flows, exceptions and root cause.
The Unit Costing Business Analyst role focuses on data collection and analysis that will enable the cost model build. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining consistency in approach across regions, products and functional organizations to enable value-added analysis and conclusions regarding cost behaviors, and comparisons across products and geographies. The ideal candidate will be versatile, possessing a general understanding of the GTS businesses and their specific reporting needs, basic fundamentals of costing software and a detailed understanding of activity based costing principles and methodologies. Responsibilities:
- Populate data collection templates
- Prepare validation reviews / tools / reports
- Participate in data collection interviews
- Manage follow-ups
- Document expense and transaction data sources
- Manage data tasks; compile activity and volume data, model input/output/validation of results
- Develop requirements for automated data collection
- Prepare views in analytical tool
- Administer data collection for semiannual model refreshes

Required Skills:
- Excellent Excel, Access, Powerpoint skills
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Familiarity with Activity Based Costing and managerial accounting principles
- Familiarity with transaction banking products and market
- Experience with business intelligence reporting tools

- Ability to handle multiple tasks and deliver on numerous deliverables simultaneously
