Our client is currently the largest national Provider of Offender Learning in the UK; their highly qualified employees are fully trained in security arrangements in order for them to deliver a responsive curriculum within prisons across England 52 weeks a year.

 

The aim of the Directorate is to lead, manage and develop provision in order to reduce re-offending and contribute to social inclusion by providing a wealth of curricula experiences including a core curriculum of Skills for Life, Personal and Social Development and work related training.

With this in mind they are currently seeking to appoint a full time Vocational Training and ICT Curriculum Team Leader to work within the Education provision at HMP Leeds.

 

Reporting to the OLASS Manager you will manage and co-ordinate the Vocational Training and ICT provision and staff, and be an active member of the Senior Management Team within the department. The successful candidate will manage the curriculum area to monitor and improve teaching, learning, assessment and achievement within the department.  The teaching load will be NVQ Business Administration.

 

Applicants must have the ability to deliver, assess and lead a team and have knowledge of curriculum development, ensuring compliance with the Adult Learning framework, best practice and quality targets. Under the criteria of the awarding organisation you will be required to hold or work towards the relevant Assessors Award.

 

You will have excellent change management and people skills, specialist knowledge of delivery and developments within the Vocational Training and ICT area and be an enthusiastic problem solver/decision maker. You will hold a teaching qualification at Level 5 (Cert Ed/PGCE) and a subject specialism Level 5 qualification.
