Custody and Fund Account Fund Manager, Officer

Overview:

In this position you will be part of a dynamic team that supports one of State Street's largest clients. This is a full service (Custody/Accounting) relationship servicing Exchange Traded Funds.

Responsibilities

Manage the ongoing team development/performance, organization, communication and operational aspects of the group.

Team Development and Performance:
•Maximize the development and performance of the group to better position the team to meet service deliverables, retain key employees and improve the level of morale and overall satisfaction of the team.
•Provide coaching and guidance to Senior Associates and staff members to ensure that appropriate thought and consideration is being given in the delegation of tasks, performing skills assessments and in outlining and implementing succession plans.
•Encourage and monitor the enrollment and completion of internally facilitated training, online modules, GHR instructor-led courses as well as group specific training initiatives
•Address all errors and oversights appropriately with urgent focus on preventing recurrence through the strengthening and implementation of controls
•Ensure that ongoing feedback is being provided to all team members and that mid-year and year-end performance review assessments are being completed in timely and fair manner
Organization and Communication:
•Encourage and ensure effective communication in order to maximize the ability of the team to perform at the highest-level possible and contribute to an overall positive working climate
•Seek out, be aware of and disseminate all relevant industry, client and group updates and changes to policies and procedures
•Organize and carry out the facilitation of periodic team update meetings, periodic planning sessions and frequent risk item review discussions.
Operational and Client Focus:
•Focus on responsive and accurate handling of initiatives and inquiries in order to enhance client perception of the department as well as State Street as a whole
•Ensure the escalation and resolution of any system or processing related issues as they arise that may potentially impact service deliverables
•Work with Senior Management and Senior Associate direct reports to address all day-to-day workflow needs/re-alignments, completion of all required tasks and response to outstanding inquiries as well as resolution to all employee issues and concerns

Skills

Qualifications
•Equivalent to a B.S. degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or related field.
•Five years of related custody and/or fund accounting experience, part of which must have been in a management or supervisory capacity.
•Knowledge of financial securities markets, language and products as well as legal and regulatory requirements.
•Good interpersonal, organizational, and management skills
•Solid understanding of operational functions within both Custody and/or Fund Accounting.
•Ability to provide technical expertise to resolve daily problems and client issues.
•Working knowledge of MS Office applications and spreadsheet proficiency.
•Ability to develop business relationships within and outside the organization.
