As the Customer Account Representative you will report to the Customer Service Supervisor in our Chicago, IL. office. You will be responsible for maintaining customer relationships with the highest level of service through proactive order management, timely follow-up, a positive friendly attitude and the support of other team members in meeting department objectives. You will be required to provide support to and coordinate information provided by other functions within the Company including Sales, Transportation Management, Logistics, Credit, and Production Planning. RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides exceptional proactive customer service, including building and maintaining effective internal and external customer relationships;

  • Answering telephone calls from both internal and external customers taking customer orders, providing product and delivery information, resolving customer concerns within guidelines, responding to requests for information, and coordinating information between various facets of the Company;

  • Following up to requests for information and communication including faxes, email messages, voice mail messages, and text messaging;

  • Working with customers to ensure order accuracy and that all orders meet company specifications;

  • Coordinating information and information flow between customers, Logistics, Transportation, and Sales;

  • Effectively and accurately manages customer orders of all Company products;

  • Serve as a functional backup within customer service department.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to identify and understand issues and resolve customer inquiries and develop appropriate solutions quickly and effectively.

  • Intermediate skills with the standard features of various personal computer word processing and spreadsheet software (Microsoft Word and Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Internet, and other proprietary software).

  • Superior interpersonal and oral/written communication skills with the ability to relate well and cooperate with others to effectively coordinate activities and accomplish goals.

  • Strong attention to detail.

    EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
    -- Bachelor's Degree
    -- Zero to three years of work experience.
    -- Candidates must be bright, hard working, driven and strong problem solvers.
