We currently have an opening in Harrisburg, PA for a Customer Account Representative. This position is responsible for maximizing account receivables by providing high quality financial services to the customer, facilitating the payment process, the resolution of customer deductions and the accurate maintenance of customer payment activity.
MAJOR DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Cash Application - Apply customer remittances and identify and classify customer deductions per Accounts Receivable department guidelines. Ensure the most efficient and productive cash application methods are utilized.
- Perform collection responsibilities on customer receivables. Pursue methods that will improve customer payments. Address and resolve issues of delinquency and aging within receivables. Ensure credit policies and controls are maintained on customers. Maintain awareness of financial issues within assigned customers and implement appropriate action.
- Release or Hold orders from shipping, based on review of customer receivables. This includes notifying Warehouse, Customer Service, Broker and Field Sales pending the resolution of unfavorable receivables.
- Pursue deduction resolution through internal clearance and external communication. Develop business relationships with customers, sales and logistics to reduce customer discrepancies. Maintain proficiency with systems utilized in credit memo generation. Ensure adherence to deduction resolution policies. Process rebills and credit memos that occur due to billing inaccuracies. Maintain supporting documentation in adherence to audit guidelines.
- Support department members by assisting with workloads, providing training and assuming member responsibilities as required in order to achieve the goals set for the Customer Finance Services team.
- Develop and maintain a high level of proficiency with all department systems, policies and procedures. Seek opportunities to develop and enhance business skills through participation in functional/cross-functional training, internal business development skills training and in-house training programs.
Additional consideration given to candidates with:
· Experience with SAP or similar ERP system
· 3-5 years office experience in deduction resolution, accounts receivable or accounts payable.
· Ability to multitask and handle multiple priorities and daily/monthly time constraints
· Familiarity with Marketing programs/activity cycle from order entry to accounts receivable
· Strong interpersonal skills
Education: Although a degree is not required, candidates with a Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related field, will be given additional consideration.
