Posted Position Title: Customer Program Manager Career Level: Experienced Function Services Function Segment: Project Management Location: United States U.S. State, China or Canada Provinces: New York City: Bohemia Postal Code: 11716-0999 Relocation Assistance Yes Role Summary/Purpose: The Customer Service Program Leader acts as the Business Leader for the Repairs and Spares business segments within Power Conversion and Controls. Essential Responsibilities In this role you will be responsible for the front-end processes and performance (order administration, customer interface, status reporting) and influence the Operations team to achieve financial and customer satisfaction targets. The role will be leading several technically complex, customer facing programs that require excellent planning, presentation, and people skills. - Assist with implementing business automation initiatives and introducing project management tools and best practices across the entire team - Utilize the ability to successfully lead larger local initiatives (e.g. inter-departmental initiatives, corporate engagements, system implementation, etc.) - Be responsible for continuous improvement of the repairs administration processes to remove bottlenecks and improve customer experience - Collaborate closely with Supply Chain to ensure the overall cross-functional Repair team meets its financial and customer satisfaction goals - Support the Sales team in the repair proposal process and shift to PBL contracts and catalog pricing by compiling experienced-based repair costs - Collaborate with the Repair Cell to monitor and identify repair cost risks and set productivity goals - Participate in the New Product Introduction (NPI) process by providing Customer Service inputs - Provide periodic status briefings to local and remote business leaders - Lead and collaborate with Black Belts to identify and execute process improvement projects - Act as customer advocate to ensure appropriate attention to urgent repairs and spares Qualifications/Requirements: - Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline from an accredited university - Minimum of 3 years of Project Management leadership experience in a manufacturing environment - Minimum of 2 years of customer facing experience in Project Management, Sales, or customer Service Additional Eligibility Qualifications GE will only employ those who are legally authorized to work in the United States for this opening. Desired Characteristics - Masters Degree in Business Administration or technical discipline - Minimum of 10 years of experience in related technical or business leadership; electronics field preferred - Six Sigma Green Belt certification (GE employees only) - Strong oral and written communication skills in the English language - Strong personal computer (PC) knowledge with demonstrable proficiency in Microsoft (MS) Excel and MS Project - Strong conflict resolution and influencing skills - Strong business and financial acumen - Strong oral and written communication skills - Ability to communicate with all levels of internal and external customer organizations including executive management - Strong interpersonal and leadership skills - Ability to lead cross-functional and customer / supplier teams - Leader or team member of at least one process improvement effort - Ability to embrace ambiguity and uncertainty without losing focus and determination - Experience working in a matrix environment - Ability to inspire and mentor others to excel - Previous military or civil aviation experience a plus Why join one great company when you can join many?
